WEEDSPORT, NY (September 23, 2026) – They say good things come to those who wait. In this instance, the wait has been a decade long. On May 16, 2027, Weedsport Speedway will officially welcome the return of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision to The Port for the World of Outlaws Finger Lakes 50.
The series return to Weedsport will be the nightcap of a three-race swing for the tour which will also see stops at Mohawk International Raceway on May 14 and Can-Am Speedway on May 15.
The stretch will be a lucrative one for Late Model teams as all three events will pay $20,000 to win, with $1,500 to take the green flag.
“This is a great opportunity for all involved,” said Weedsport Speedway General Manager, Jimmy Phelps. “It’s no secret that our fans have been wanting this for several years and the pieces have now fallen into place to be part of a great weekend with the World of Outlaws Late Models. We’re excited to begin preparations and proud to be a venue that plays host to both the World of Outlaws Late Models and World of Outlaws Sprint Cars in 2027.”
The May 16 World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision date will of course be a precursor to a two-day date for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series at Weedsport on July 24-25.
The World of Outlaws Late Models return to Weedsport will be their first stop to the Central New York oval since 2016, when Josh Richards went to victory lane. The 2027 date will mark the fifth all-time visit to Weedsport with Chub Frank having won in 2006 and 2007 and Shane Clanton the winner in 2015.
