(Weedsport, NY) – July 7, 2025 – After trailing Mike Smith for the majority of Sunday night’s Hoosier 600 Sprint Tour main at Weedsport Speedway, Tim Lotz utilized a late race restart to roll past Smith and runaway to claim victory as part of the evening’s ESS Speedweek Finale, presented by Pit Stop Convenience Stores and Marathon.
A stellar field of 24 Hoosier 600 Sprints made their way through the Weedsport Speedway gates on a beautiful Fourth of July Weekend with Smith appearing to be the car to beat in his No. 2S. At different times through the event, Smith held a dominating lead, but several cautions would consistently bunch the field back up for a chance at the race leader. One of those cautions gave the Lotz No. 99T the opportunity he needed to sail around Smith into turn and take a lead that he would never again relinquish on his way to a $400 victory.
Smith would wind up trailing by just over one second at the line with Zack Bobbett, Will Fisher and Ivan Forney completing the top five finishers. Pete Coffey, Kyle Pierce, Eric Wise, Billy Applebee and Cliff Pierce would fill the top ten runners at the conclusion of 25-laps around the Weedsport oval.
Qualifying victories would go to Wise, Bobbett and Smith earlier in the evening.
