WEEDSPORT, NY (October 20, 2025) – A total of 210 entries took on Weedsport Kartway’s Octoberfest Weekend, but just one stole the headlines as Seth Whitney went six for six, claiming more than $4,500 in prize money and the title of ‘Octoberfest 50’ champion for the first time in his karting career.
Whitney claimed wins in all four points paying events he entered while also scoring Saturday’s $1,000 PRO Clone 375 main event. On Sunday, Whitney started from the pole position in the ‘Octoberfest 50’ and led every lap on his way to the win, worth another $3,200 alone.
With the victory, Whitney now becomes the seventh different winner of Octoberfest’s PRO finale joining Jeffrey Chapman, Jeremy Tuttle, Dan Marsden, Jared John, Trent Smith and Cole Huard as previous winners. Weedsport’s highest paying and most prestigious event, has still not seen a repeat winner since 2018.
Whitney’s all-time win total at Weedsport now surges to 42, with an impressive winning percentage of more than 20% in total at the Short Port.
Chasing Whitney across the line in the ‘Octoberfest 50’ were former champions Jared John and Trent Smith, with Cash Johnson and Trent Curtis filling the front five spots.
John made an impressive drive from 18th on the starting grid all the way to second by the conclusion of the races first 25-lap segment.
The top ten was filled by Seth Perrin, Riley Begy, Kayla Joseph, Dan Marsden and Chris Pier.
While John came up short in PRO Clone 375 on Sunday, he did claim the top spot in PRO Clone Super Heavy over Smith and Nick McGill. John’s 36th career win at Weedsport was worth $500.
Saturday’s Clone Invitational event saw the biggest kart count of the weekend with Josh Ostrander besting 18 other drivers to score the $500 win. The race, which featured drivers that had never won a senior PRO main event at Weedsport, saw Nicholas Fierle, Perrin, Begy and Joseph in the front five positions.
Similar to John’s run in Sunday’s PRO main, Perrin started 18th in the weekend’s Invitational and mounted a spirited charge to third in the final running order.
Aside from PRO action, Octoberfest Weekend also crowned 2025 track champions at Weedsport with tight races across the board.
Maximus Wallace would overcome a weekend deficit to claim the Jr. Red Clone title with finishes of first and second on the weekend. Wallace edged Clark McGruder for the title with Brantley Smith, Harloe Russell and Michael Kapuscinski finishing in the top five points positions.
Sunday’s Jr. Red Clone main would see a first time Weedsport winner in Owen Alger, who also scored a second in Saturday’s main.
The Jr. Green Clone track title belongs to Lily Walters, who sealed the championship with finishes of third and fourth on the weekend. Eli Reid, Jackson Knight, Nolan Schroy and Bryson Herriven finished in the top five positions in the points battle.
Herriven and Mason Simmons were Jr. Green points winners on the weekend.
With a victory on Sunday, Mason Kiah stole the Jr. Purple Clone championship by a single point ahead of Laina Stewart, who claimed Saturday’s main event. Mason Sharts, Harper Waite and Ryan Barry were the top five title contenders in a tight championship race.
A Saturday victory for Joey Surman was a huge help toward propelling him to the Jr. Blue Clone track championship over Parker Allen. Timmy Axton, Olivia Barry and Jayden Conklin finished top five in the title hunt.
Sunday’s Blue Clone winner was Levi Herriven, who now stands at 32 career Weedsport wins.
Clone Light and Clone Heavy track titles once again belong to the dominant Seth Whitney. Tanner Emmons was the runner-up for the year in each class with Riley Begy taking third in Clone Light and Trent Smith taking third in Clone Heavy.
Smith would also earn the Clone Super Heavy track championship over Nick McGill, Dana Hugg and Adam Kouk. Smith won both Clone Super Heavy points events on the weekend.
Jr. PRO winners over the weekend included Mason Simmons, Mason Kiah, Savannah Simmons, Bryson Herriven and Levi Herriven.
The weekend’s Rookie Red Clone main events were captured by Evan Sauder and Kingsley Gould.
