WEEDSPORT, NY (September 9, 2025) – The 8th annual PRO Clone Super Heavy James Shutts Memorial returns to Weedsport Kartway this Sunday, September 14 presented by Novelis, Infinit Technology Solutions, Independent Pizzeria, Mike Babcock Racing and Rocket Tow.
The 44-lap James Shutts Memorial for PRO Clone Super Heavy racers will be run in two 22-lap segments, paying $222 to lead halfway and $1,222 for the overall win. The champion will also receive a custom designed trophy from Performance Manufacturing of Middleport, NY. Drivers that qualify for the main event will earn a guaranteed $100 to take the green flag.
Previous memorial champions include Dan Kapuscinski, Jason Moll, Matt Chavis and Jared John, who has won the last three events consecutively.
A total of 13 classes will compete on September 14 including Rookie Red Clone, Jr. Red Clone, Jr. Green Clone, Jr. Purple Clone, Jr. Blue Clone, Clone Light, Clone Heavy, Clone Super Heavy, as well as PRO Green Clone, PRO Purple Clone, PRO Blue Clone, PRO Clone 375 and PRO Clone Super Heavy.
The PRO Clone 375 division will compete for a winner’s share of $1,000.
Pre-registration is currently open online via the Kart Pass app, or by calling the speedway office at (315) 834-3067.
Pre-registration fees are $35 for points classes, $40 for Jr. PRO and $60 for PRO Clone 375 and PRO Clone Super Heavy.
The Wight Lightning Racing Rookie Red Clone class will have a free entry fee.
Pit gates will open on September 14 at 8 a.m., with the drivers meeting slated for 9:30 a.m., hot laps at 10 a.m. and qualifying at 11 a.m..
This James Shutts Memorial will mark the fourth race of the season for the Slack Karts Super Kart Series, presented by Infinit Technology Solutions, Independent Pizzeria and Burris Racing Tire. Current championship points leaders include Brantley Smith (Jr. Red), Eli Reid (Jr. Green), Laina Stewart (Jr. Purple), Joey Surman (Jr. Blue), Seth Whitney (Clone Light and Heavy) and Trent Smith (Clone Super Heavy).
