WEEDSPORT, NY (April 27, 2026) – Weedsport Kartway opened its 2026 season yesterday under beautiful blue skies and it was Western New York racer, Jack Reid, topping the day’s PRO Jr. Purple Clone main event behind the wheel of his No. 9, earning $100.
Scoring his second career Weedsport win, Reid started from the second position in the 20-lap PRO finale and found his way to the front to best Ryan Barry and defending Purple Clone track champion, Mason Kiah, at the line. Purple Clone rookie Rory Yaw and Mason Sharts filled the top five runners at the checkered.
Despite coming up short in the PRO main, Sharts would win the Jr. Purple Clone points main event by some 2.5-seconds over Kiah and Reid.
PRO Clone 375 was also in action on Sunday with Seth Whitney collecting $500 as the victor over Parker Allen and Preston Walsh.
Whitney would also collect wins in Clone Light and Clone Heavy during the afternoon.
In his first race at Weedsport in several years, Tyler Henry notched his first Weedsport win in Clone Super Heavy over Adam Kouk.
The day’s Jr. Red Clone main was tight from the start with all drivers engaged in a fun battle for 15-laps. At the checkered flag it was Alex Nutting collecting his first Jr. Red win, and second overall victory, at Weedsport in front of Richard Van Iderstine and Austin Shutts.
The biggest class of the afternoon was Jr. Green Clone with 11-entries taking the green flag. Quick timer Nolan Schroy led all 20-laps for the win while Owen Alger, Maximus Wallace, Cole Pike and Lily Walters battled hard in the front five positions. The win was Schroy’s first ever triumph at The Short Port after several years of trying.
Joining the first timer bandwagon was Kaleb Kiah, who topped Jr. Blue Clone on Sunday for his first Weedsport win. Laina Stewart and Dodge Smith finished the 20-lapper on the podium.
Emory Kiah was the lone Rookie Red Clone competitor in action on Sunday and got to carry her first checkered flag for her efforts.
Weedsport Kartway will return to action on Sunday, May 31 for Kart Cup. The day’s action will see $500 to win PRO Clone 375, as well as a $100 PRO Jr. Green Clone main event. Rookie Red Clone as well as all seven points classes will also take to the track.
