On Sunday, May 3, Weedsport Speedway will break the ice on its 2026 racing season with the Icebreaker 50, presented by STOP-DWI New York.
The first racing action of the season at Weedsport will feature the mighty DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds, as well as the DIRTcar Sportsman and the lone visit of the season by the ultra-competitive Empire Street Stock Series.
The DIRTcar Big Block Modified 50-lapper is expected to draw the best of the best in the region with the winner’s share set at $5,000 along with a handsome $400 prize to simply take the green flag in the main event.
Advance sale reserved seating for the season opener is available for $35 with adult general admission set at $30, youth admission (11-17) priced at $15 with kids 10 and under FREE.

Pit gates are currently set to open at 3 p.m. on race day with grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. and racing taking the green at 6 p.m.

About Weedsport Speedway: Officially opened for the first time on July 24, 1955 – the Weedsport Speedway 3/8 mile dirt oval has produced a legendary list of drivers and champions including Will Cagle, Danny Johnson, Bob McCreadie, Alan Johnson, Jack Johnson, and Dave Lape to name a few.
