Nine and a half hours, 33 competitors and 35 grueling laps were what it took for Ionia Michigan’s AJ Ward to capture $2,500 and some impressive hardware in Weedsport Speedway’s inaugural IMCA Modified Northeast Shootout that was presented by All Ways Concrete Pumping and Repair Plus, both of Auburn, NY.
While the 2015 Weedsport Speedway schedule promises to bring the biggest and best traveling series divisions that dirt track racing has to offer, there will be a steady diet of Sportsman competition. The Stars of the fastest growing division in the northeast will take to the 3/8 oval on 7 different occasions in 2015.
The inaugural IMCA Modified Northeast Shootout will be held Sunday, May 3rd at Weedsport Speedway. What is now the top-paying event for IMCA sanctioned Modifieds in the State of New York this season will send the winner home with a check for $2,500.
Due to week long inclement weather, crews have been unable to prepare the racetrack for this Sunday’s originally scheduled practice. Practice has been rescheduled to Wednesday, April 29th.
In 2015, the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series is making their first stop of Central New York at Weedsport Speedway on Sunday, May 17th. The Empire State Challenge will also feature DIRTcar Modifieds. Don’t miss the “Greatest Show on DIRT”!
