WEEDSPORT, NY (May 20, 2025) – Weedsport Speedway’s 2025 campaign will now officially begin this Sunday, May 25 with the running of the Super DIRTcar Series Heroes Remembered 100, presented by Ferris Mowers.
The Port’s May 25 lid lifter will be the first of six events at the 3/8 mile oval and will feature a three-division card including the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds, the DIRTcar Sportsman Series, as well as the CRSA Sprint Cars.
This Sunday’s event for the Super DIRTcar Series will be the first of four stops at the Weedsport oval, making it a pivotal event on the Super DIRTcar Series schedule. Drivers will battle for a $7,500 pay day and the right to stand tall on the top of Victory Hill.
Following two events this season, Alex Yankowski stands as the Super DIRTcar Series points leader in a tight battle with defending Heroes Remembered 100 champion Mat Williamson, Erick Rudolph, Tim Sears and Anthony Perrego. A star-studded field will join those at the top of the championship including Mike Mahaney, Matt Sheppard, Felix Roy, Alex Payne, Jimmy Phelps, Larry Wight, Peter Britten and former Heroes Remembered 100 champion, Stewart Friesen.
Williamson and Friesen have dominated Weedsport in recent years, with Phelps and Wight being the only other series winners at the facility since 2022.
Sunday will also mark the first round of the DIRTcar Sportsman Series Central Region, with $1,000 going to the winner. The Series’ North Region recently opened at Can-Am Speedway, with Tyler Corcoran picking up the win over Richard Murtaugh III, Gavin Eisele, Shane Pecore and Bobby Herrington.
The always exciting CRSA Sprint Cars will hold their third event of the year at Weedsport this Sunday. Current point leaders include Jordan Hutton, Zach Sobotka, Dalton Herrick, Spencer Burley and Alysha Bay. Winners this season include Jeff Trombley at Outlaw Speedway on April 18 and Dillon Paddock at Woodhull Raceway on May 10.
Pits are scheduled to open at 4 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 5 p.m. Be sure to come early and visit the midway to enjoy live entertainment by TIGER.
Racing action will take the green on Sunday at 7 p.m.
